Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, will inaugurate the offshore development centre of Symbiosys Technologies in the IT special economic zone at Rushikonda, according to Mr Naresh Kumar Oruganti, Chief Executive Officer.
He said at a press meet that the new premises had been built at a cost of Rs 20 crore. “We have set up Symbiosys in 2001 and since then we have been operating in the city office. We have been allotted two acres in the SEZ here and we will shift the operations from the city,” he said.
He said, the company was presently employing 220 and 120 of them would be shifted to the Rushikonda centre soon. He said Symbiosys could register export turnĀover of Rs 13.5 crore by March, 2009, and it may cross Rs 15 crore during the current financial year. “We will double our turnover and employee strength by 2011,” he said and added that Google was the main client of the company.
Referring to the steps needed for development of Vizag as a tier-II destination for IT industry, he said the prospects were very bright, but the Government on its part would have to create certain facilities. “At least 50 to 100 smaller IT companies should be encouraged by the Government by providing plug-and-play and other facilities at a nominal cost. Four or five bigger IT companies should be encouraged to have their own centres here.”
